1 Airlifted after Miami-Dade County Head-On Collision on Florida’s Turnpike near Hard Rock Stadium
Miami-Dade County, Florida (April 29, 2023) – Two people sustained injuries after a wrong-way, head-on collision in Miami-Dade County early Friday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened on April 28 on Florida’s Turnpike near Hard Rock Stadium. 
A white Chevrolet Camaro was traveling north in the southbound lanes near Northwest 199th Street when it collided head-on with a silver Toyota pickup truck going south with the correct traffic flow.
The Camaro driver sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
The Toyota’s driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Miami Herald.
The Southbound lanes at Northwest 199th Street near Hard Rock Stadium were shut down for several hours.
The lanes were reopened just before 9:00 a.m.
