1 Dies in North Port Collision at Palm Harbor Drive and Highway 41
North Port, Florida (May 4, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday afternoon crash that left one person dead and another with significant injuries at an intersection in North Port.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:10 p.m. on May 3 at Palm Harbor Drive ad Highway 41. 
A Hyundai sedan failed to yield to the oncoming traffic on Highway 41 and entered the intersection into the path of the Nissan.
The Nisan slammed into the left side of the Hyundai.
The passenger in the Nissan was seriously injured and was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead.
The Nissan driver sustained severe injuries.
The Hyundai driver suffered significant injuries also following the accident.
The FHP is investigating the accident.
